Live Music Matters Living Classrooms is a project-based learning program designed to strengthen communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential. Through hands-on education and job training that uses journalism, social media, multi-media and concert production as “living classrooms”, participants learn through direct experience and develop skills that will benefit them in the classroom and workforce.
The Live Music Matters Community Photojournalist Project offers rich opportunities for students to explore and share their world by turning students into photographers, interviewers, journalists, and documentarians. Students cultivate storytelling abilities by investigating community-based or cultural stories that are eventually packaged as photo essays and narratives that adhere to professional photojournalism and publication guidelines. Thank you to our student project partners: Apple for supplying the iPhones, iPads and MacBook Pros that our students will be using; and T-Mobile for providing local wifi that will allow our students to report via social media.
