Patrick Booth Trio

The Patrick Booth Trio is a collaborative effort. The music is all composed by the trio equally. Phil and Patrick met while on a month long retreat in Banff, Alberta Canada. They were both fortunate enough to be selected to take part in the International Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music at the Banff Centre. Patrick and Phil’s friendship started on their first day there. Subsequently they began playing music together every day throughout their entire time at the Workshop, creating a life long connection in the process.

The Trio was formed out of that experience. Knowing that it would be difficult to keep a band together with the distance (Patrick is based in Michigan, Phil in Toronto), they’ve worked hard to keep their connection; and it has been so far so good! The other member of the trio, Jon Taylor, is a drummer whom Patrick met while attending the University of Michigan, where they were both studying Contemporary Improvisation. The Trio’s goal is to continue to push the boundaries of what beauty, emotion, and sonic understanding means.
